By BARB JOY Under _ the _ Integrated Homemaker Program announced recently by the provincial govâ€" ernment, these two groups had to require the services of a health care professional from one or more of four categories â€" physâ€" iotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, speech and language pathology â€" before they were eligible for homemaking serâ€" vices. When professional services were no longer required, homeâ€" making services stopped, unless clients were willing to pay for their continuance. Under a recently announced provincial redirection program, homemaking services would conâ€" tinue as long as the client needed them, _ explained _ Sandra Shadwick, Director of the Region of Halton‘s Home Care program. "It will be a great advantage for the frail elderly and disabled who no longer need professional services but still need help with dayâ€"toâ€"day living needs such as making meals, laundry, shopping and light cleaning," she said.
