While everyone was there to share in the 'Star Wars' culture, they all had different reasons for seeing the'movie. "I want to be able to say that I was one of the first ones to see it," said Yusuf Toufexief, a 20 year-old Guelph University stu­ dent who grew up on the George Lucas classics. Dave Sutton, 28, took the day off work to make sure he got a ticket. "I still remember seeing the first 'Star Wars' when I was around five or six. It's great to see new ones now with the next generation, like nieces and nephews." There were young men and women asleep in their sleeping bags, catching up on lost rest because it was too cold to get any shut-eye the night before. "I was worried that if I fell asleep I'd freeze to death," said Pitt. The excitement is not lost on today's youth, who appreciate 'Star Wars' place in society as much as anyone else. "I've been waiting for four years to see this movie," said Ryan Bent, 16, who missed a class or two to make sure he was in line for tickets. Some people were in line rep­ resenting those who could not make it. "I'm here getting tickets for my boyfriend," said Flora, a 22 year-old who has the week off work. "He has all the action figures, old and new, except for the new Darth Vader. They sold out before he could get one." Flora expects a favor in return. "He owes me big time," she said with a smile. AMC Theatre allowed patrons to use the washroom facilities and grab a snack from the concession stand. "They've been great, it's made our lives a lot easier," said Pitt. Those who spent the chilly Tuesday night in line got to know one another and spent the evening watching the 'Star Wars Trilogy' from a TV and VCR they hooked up outside of the theatre. It was a bonding experi­ ence for all who share 'Star Wars' as a common interest.
