Friday, May 14, 1999 THE OAKVILLE BEAVER 13 Dream-Maker Run passes through town Saturday Doug Flis, a 48-year-old postman from Hamilton, will run a 180-kilometre "Dream-Maker Run" this Saturday and Sunday to raise funds for three chil­ dren's hospitals in Toronto, Hamilton and London. Outback Steakhouse and the Kelsey's for Kids charity will be spon­ soring Flis' run, which will take approx­ imately 24 hours to complete. Flis will begin his trek at noon on Saturday, at the Outback Steakhouse at 730 Matheson Boulevard in Mississauga (just outside the Oakville border) where supporters can enjoy a charity barbecue and give Flis a loud and supportive send-off. The event will wrap up on Sunday at a second fundraising barbecue at the Outback Steakhouse at 765 Exeter Road in London where Flis will complete his "Dream Maker Run". An ardent runner, Flis has run 42 marathons (with a personal best 2 hours 44 minutes), the Hawaiian Ironman and numerous other established events. He should be passing through Oakville on Saturday afternoon. Flis has teamed up with Kelsey's for Kids to raise funds for the foundations associated with The Hospital for Sick Children, Children's Hospital of the Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation and the Children's Hospital of Western Ontario.
