THE OAKVILLE BEAVER RUNNING FOR THE 'Yl: The Oakville YMCA's 10k Run, 3k Walk and lk Challenge on Saturday helped raise $4,600 for the Y's Building Fund. The event attracted 195 10k runners (double last year's entrants) and 59 competitors in the IK Challenge. While some participants ran thecourse, others chose to walk the 3K course, and still others, such as (below) Pennie Darling and "Jessie" along with Jane Laslop and "Andy" cheered runners on the 10K route.The highlight of the even was the pres­ ence of Michael 'Pinball' Clemons, of the Toronto Argonauts, who helped start the event and participated in the lk Challenge with the under 12's and Special Olympians and handed out awards and signed many autographs.
