Frank Black was an active participant in Georgetown’s art scene during the 1950s – 1980s. He taught evening classes locally and with some of his pupils, founded the Palette and Pencil Club. Black regularly exhibited his work in exhibitions at Gallery House Sol on Charles Street in Georgetown, operated by art collectors John and Gisela Sommer.
