At around 10 p.m., the victim was walking in the area of the Maple Grove Pla za when four other boys ap proached him. Police allege the suspects concealed their faces by tightening the hoods on their sweaters at which point they forced the victim to the ground and removed his recently purchased Air Jordan running shoes. The individuals then fled the scene in two separate ve hicles. The victim was not in jured in the attack. Police investigated the incident and subsequently arrested four youths. Their identities are pro tected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Police said the individu als would be dealt with by way of an extrajudicial sanction. The shoes were recov ered and returned to the vic tim. Anyone with informa tion about this incident is asked to contact Det. Const. Autumn Mills at 905-825- 4747 ext. 2285 or Crime Stop pers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Break-in plot foiled by alert neighbour DAVID LEA dlea@metroland.com A 37-year-old Oakville woman is facing several charges after an alert neighbour foiled a break-in attempt. On Sunday, April 15, a resident in the Third Line and Marine Drive area no ticed an unfamiliar vehicle parked in her neighbour's driveway. The individual contact ed Halton police, who found a woman trespassing on the property with a knife and break-and-enter tools. Kelly Slanhof, 37, of Oakville, was arrested and charged with trespassing at night, possession of break- in instruments, unautho rized possession of a weap on, two counts of posses sion of a controlled sub stance and resisting arrest. Halton police said this incident was an excellent example of citizens looking out for each other and be ing aware of their sur roundings. Anyone with additional information about this inci dent is asked to contact the Oakville criminal investi gations bureau at 905-825- 4747, ext. 2216, or Crime Stoppers, at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). m e t a b o l i c c a r e c l i n i c s ONE YEAR LATER!BEFORE AFTER W E IG H T L O S S T H A T W O R K S R E S U LTS T H A T L A S T www. metabol iccarecl in ics. com http://www.august8.ca mailto:dlea@metroland.com mailto:dlea@metroland.com
