As Mr. Dressup, Ernie Coombs, star of the popular CBC television Children's program will perform a live stage show designed particularly for pre-school children. The age range isn't strictly limited to the younger set, however, as experience has proven t ha t Mr. D re ssu p 's onstage antics appeal to kids up into the sub-teen range, and even sets mothers and dads in the audience to giggling and applauding. On stage with Mr. Dressup will be his famous "Tickle Trunk" , an a l m o s t - m a g i c repository for all sorts of costumes and props. From the contents of this fantastic trunk, Mr. D ressup builds his repertoire of characters, songs, and make-believe situations, which so de l i g h t his young viewers. He may be a blustery pirate captain, or a silly clown -- or an artist creating pictures for the audience -- no matter wha t Mr. Dres sup becomes, he frequently calls on the audience to participate, and to join him in songs. Although the puppets Casey and Finnegan are seen wi th him on television, Mr. Dressup's stage appearance is a solo effort. Nevertheless, Casey and Finnegan are always asked for by the audience , and Mr. Dressup has to explain where they are, and what they are probably doing at the moment. Ernie Coombs lives with his family in Pickering, just outside of Toronto. He has a daughter who is eleven, and a son aged eight. A varying number of dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and a pony are part of the family, too.
