Liberals pick candidate Sunday Oakville Liberals select their candi­ date for the next provincial election dur­ ing this Sunday's nomination meeting at the 707 Galaxy Club. Local councillors Kevin Flynn and Kathy Graham are in the running to rep­ resent the new riding of Oakville. Sunday's event gets underway at 7 p.m. with the candidates' speeches and demonstrations. Voting starts at 7:30 p.m. and will close no earlier than 9 p.m. The Galaxy Club is located at 475 North Service Rd. East. Flynn - owner of a local turf irriga­ tion company - was elected to local and regional council in 1985 and has served five consecutive terms representing Ward 1. Graham - administrator of a not-for- profit housing complex - has served Ward 2 at both the local and, most recently, regional council for five terms. Both Flynn and Graham have also participated in a wide variety of local boards, committees and other activities. Those who are qualified to vote include residents of the electoral district who were members of the Oakville Provincial Liberal Association as of March 20th and residents of the elec­ toral district who are immediate past members and who renew prior to the close of voting.
