It may seem like a giant leap, but for Greg McGibbon it was a natural step. The Oakville welder worked in a variety of industrial shops making everything from steel beams to robot parts to pressure vessels. But after a layoff and a couple of years of looking after house and kids, McGibbon saw a table in a magazine and said, "I can do that." And he did. Ele remembers showing his neighbour his first X-table. The neighbour liked the table but sug­ gested that the hard part was not making it, but selling it.
