Although He took her back One year ago today, We are so grateful for The years He let her stay. Missing you, Guy, Kim, MacKenzie and Montana In loving memory of Len Medland who passed away December 31, 2014 The moment that you died, our hearts were torn in two. One side filled with heartache, the other died with you. We often stay awake at night when the world is fast asleep, and take a walk down memory lane with tears upon our cheeks. We hold you tightly within our hearts And there you will remain. Until that joyous day arrives when we will all meet again. Love ya and miss ya tons Sandy & Tim Leveraging funding opportunities from other levels of government is one way that the Town of Halton Hills demonstrates fiscal responsibility. A recent example is the Town's application to the Ontario Municipal Com- muter Cycling Program. The inaugural year of the four-year provincial program offers $42.5 mil- lion to municipalities on a cost share basis for eligible projects. The Town will receive $225,000 in funding to construct various cycling infrastructure. The Town is responsible for covering 20 per cent of the costs. "The Town's invest- ment supports Council's direction towards sustain- ability initiatives," said Councillor Jane Fogal. "The money will be used to support bike lanes, shared facilities and paved routes throughout Town and pro- vide connectivity to the Georgetown and Acton GO stations, urban and residential communities and employment areas." The Town's initiatives will help the municipality reach the goals outlined in the Mayor's Community Energy Plan and aligns with the Province's direction to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by supporting active transportation pro- grams. Provincial funding for commuter cycling was bumped up to $93 million in order to support all of the 120 applications received. Steven Del Duca, Minis- ter of Transportation noted: "Cycling is a convenient and sustainable way to get around, and this is why we are committed to building more cycling infrastructure to make it easier for people to bike." This funding will allow the Town to accelerate and enhance the implementa- tion of projects identified in the Halton Hills Cycling Master Plan and encourage residents of Halton Hills to shift their daily commute and other frequent trips from vehicles to bicycles.
