Eamonn Maher/photo The Town of Halton Hills and the Hal- ton Hills Public Library has announced a new lecture series set to kick off next month featuring faculty from the Univer- sity of Guelph. In a release sent Monday, Nov. 27, the li- brary said it will use funding received from the Ontario Seniors Community Grant program to support what it is calling a "provocative" lecture series. "The Halton Hills Lecture Series is an exciting collaborative event between the li- brary, the Town of Halton Hills, and the University of Guelph," said chief librarian Geoff Cannon in the release. "This gener- ous grant, provided by the Ministry of Se- niors Affairs, will allow the library to fea- ture fascinating talks from across a vari- ety of disciplines that support lifelong learning." The first lecture in the series will take place Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the John Elliot Theatre in Georgetown. Dr. Ian Spears will discuss: "Why Conflict Resolution Fails?" and the reasons behind the seemingly end- less wars we see occurring around the world.
