The group, consisting of about 20 knitters, gather on Mondays, 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Silvercreek Espresso Bar, 112 Main St. S., Georgetown. Interested knitters of all skill levels are encouraged to drop by, and the group offers support to knit- ters who need help with a project. The weather co-op- erated on the Saturday and there was an excellent turn- out. Diane Crawford, owner of Georgetown Yarn, was pleased with all the yarn do- nations that came in for their community knitting project, Let's Blanket Halton. A lot of food items were also donated for the Georgetown Bread Basket. A surprise visitor was Mayor Rick Bonnette who was driving by and dropped by to say hello and to share a knit- ting story.
