SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2013 After repeated attacks from vandals September 2012, in mid-May and the final assault August 3 in which she suffered a broken leg, Sweet Molly the Moose was finally reinstated to her former glory, after some members of the Acton BIA raised $1,200 to cover the costs of the repair. Monica Galway, the owner of Profile Hair Salon at 56D Mill Street East was the inspiration behind the fundraising for 'Raising Molly' organizing a draw for gift baskets as part of the fundraising. John McNabb of McNabb Graphics donated the "moose aid' cards and the tickets for the gift baskets, while Sherwood Copy donated the large banner and posters for 'Raising Molly'. On hand to make the cheque presentation were (from left) Acton BIA treasurer Heather Wedlake, BIA manager Jo- sey Bonnette, Sweet Molly owner Carrie-Anne Bennie, Acton BIA vice-chair Dana Selby and Molly the Moose repairman Matthew Galliford. Many of the funds were raised during the Leathertown Festival as well as at the Acton Farmers' Market. Photo by Ted Brown Molly the Moose has returned!
