Dolsae was 48 lb when he was surrendered because his owner was moving. Dolsae has been brought up in a Korean family but he knows hand signals and can respond to commands in English. Dolsae is housebroken, has those basic commands, is easy to walk, displays medium energy, and loves attention and playing outside. Dolsae unfortunately, would get the prize for being one of the most unhappy, stressed dogs we have had in UCHS for many a year. When he is alone in his pod, he stands and trembles, drooling in his sad- ness or chewing on the door to the detri- ment of his teeth. His own brand of food would not tempt him and the bowl would be untouched and he has lost weight. Luck- ily we found that he would eat if we put the meal outside and best of all if a person can be with him. We have put him in a Thun- dershirt (a coat that has uses gentle con- stant pressure to calm anxiety) to try and alleviate the massive stress he is displaying and are hoping this helps him. Dolsae is comfortable leaving the Shel- ter for his walks but when returning he is reluctant and unhappy to enter those doors and reacts by putting the brakes on. To get him back inside is quite an ordeal and it is sad and very hard for the caregivers to deal with. Dolsae is a very sweet boy who has sto- len some hearts and even has some people coming in just to be with him. Dolsae must go to an experienced adult-only dog owner, with no other pets and the realization that a Jindo was bred to take down boar so he has an exceptionally strong prey drive. He can be quite loving but he is going downhill fast and needs to find a home of his own as quickly as possible. When found, she was very thin and did not enjoy being handled, especially her tail. She is approxi- mately two years old and not a high energy cat although she is playing more as she is gains confidence. Ginny is not aggressive or dominant. She gets along with other cats and was not upset by a friendly dog. She prefers it quieter and young cats bounding about startle her and she hisses. The other cats dismiss her antics because she is all talk. And she loves to talk about everything, es- pecially when receiving pets. Gin- ny would be happy living with a quiet older family with no pets or pets that don't want to play, or as a companion for someone living alone, she would fill the home with conversation.
