Beloved husband of the late Camille (Solis) Egan; loving father of Ann Egan-Koliner (Charles), Luke Egan (Patricia), Michael Egan (Nancy) and Tim Egan (Christine); grandfather of Alexis, Jonathan, Michael (Koliner), Peter, Evan, Leanne, Hilary, Jack, and Daniel (Egan) and great grandfather of Lennox Koliner and Liam Hogg- Egan. Peter grew up on the Yamaska river in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec where in the winter he would skate for miles after a good thaw/freeze. He was schooled in the Jesuit tradition at Loyola High School and College in Montreal, was drafted by the NY Yankees farm team system in his later teens but chose the college track instead. Dad was a dedicated family man with many interests and hobbies. He was an avid and accomplished bridge player who also enjoyed contemporary novels, classical and opera music as well as modern artists of the day. Dad enjoyed golf and duck hunting, played a mean game of family ping- pong, and loved his TV sports; particularly, Hockey Night in Canada, Baseball and Golf. His passion, however, was fly tying and fly fishing, the latter of which he was able to enjoy until recently. What was so amusing about Dad was the way he could settle a dinner table battle over a remaining piece of Mom's pineapple chiffon pie with a quick game of Poker - 5 card stud, nothing wild, no nonsense, establishing a Egan family conflict resolution practice. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 9th, 2013 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church located at 14400 Argyll Road in Georgetown, Ontario with Fr. Kevin Cull officiating. The family will receive friends following the mass at a reception in the parish hall.
