S. Bach's Cantata BWV 51 for soprano, trum- pet, and strings, Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen, featuring early music specialist, soprano Charlene Pauls, from Oakville. This beautiful cantata, one of over 200 composed by the prodigious Bach, is a vir- tuosic work for solo soprano and trumpet, written for a liturgical setting, but curious- ly more operatic than most of Bach's other sacred cantatas. Listeners will be treated to incredible coloratura passages required to sing and play this marvelous work. Guest trumpeter, Patrice Boileau, originally hailing from Quebec and cur- rently living in The Hague (The Nether- lands), will perform a Concerto for valve- less trumpet, strings and harpsichord written by another prolific composer, George Phillip Telemann.
