As we experience the usual commercialism which is com- mon at this time of year, it will be important to reflect on the real meaning of Christmas. And what better way than through the voices of children! The Georgetown Children's Chorus is presenting a rock musical called Arrest These Merry Gentlemen on Sunday, Dec. 8 (1 p.m. and 4 p.m. per- formances) at the John Elliott Theatre, 9 Church St. The concert starts off with an hour of Christmas songs, sung by three different choirs....the Cherubs (ages 5 and 6), the Performance Choir (ages 9 to 18) and the Senior choir (ages 12 to 18). Songs such as Baby It's Cold Outside, Sleigh Ride, Carol of the Bells and a jazzy version of Jingle Bells will show off the beautiful harmonies of the older voices. The little ones singing Old Toy Trains will put you in the Christmas spirit for sure! After a short intermission, there is a one-hour rock mu- sical with a cast of 50 kids ages 7 to 12....complete with costumes, sets, choreography and lively, rock music. The story is about a group of police officers, charged with keeping the peace in the sleepy little town of Bethle- hem...where they like things calm and QUIET! When word reaches them that a band of rowdy shepherds is inbound from the fields outside of town, boisterously celebrat- ing with wild tales of angels and such, they are deter- mined to get to the bottom of this case! Of course, what they dis- cover is no simple "disturb- ing the peace" beef. It seems they've stumbled upon the caper that changed the world! Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and chil- dren. Tickets are available at the JET Box Office, 905-877- 3700 or online at www.hal- tonhills.ca/theatre.
