Merton Pioneer Cemetery, October 20, 2018  Located on the North Service Road east of                Bronte Road, Merton cemetery and the former              Mount Pleasant Methodist Church were set out              in 1880. The church closed in 1918 and was                  demolished in 1927. Today, the cemetery is              maintained by the Town of Oakville. Some              settlers in this village were Sheridans, Riggs,              Speers, Breckons, Atkins and Joyces. Many amenities, including a              seniors centre, an arena, a walking track Pine                Rooms, and fitness centre add to the vitality of                  the Rebecca Street site.
