As a young lad growing up in Essex, England, Waters did spend a little time sketching and painting; however, after moving to Canada at 17, he became fo- cused on his 42-year career in banking. As a career-minded, loving husband and father of four, there was little time for pursuing his interest in art. So what does one do after a life-long career as a banker? Waters picked up a paint brush and went to work. Waters loves to paint in all media, ex- cept oil. He is largely a self-taught artist who, like many artists, has taken cours- es and painted alongside other artists to improve his techniques. Waters is also an avid reader and life-long student of the arts. After 20 years of painting purely for pleasure, the owners of Main Street Inn fi nally convinced Waters to exhibit his art publicly at Main Street Inn this winter. The show will run January 15, through March 24. Water's paintings are fresh and alive, while others are wonderfully whimsical, according to Sharon Flood of Main Street Inn. Waters will display original pieces of his work, both realistic and abstract. He has also reproduced fi ve pieces in 10 lim- ited edition giclee, archival quality prints, which of course, are more affordable.
