Sincerely, Cindi Campbell, Advertising Manager The Friends of the Old Seed House Gar- den are hosting a benefi t performance of the Georgetown Little Theatre production of Sylvia, a romantic comedy on Friday April 12, at the Acton Town Hall Centre. There are several reasons to attend this event. First and foremost, the Georgetown Little Theatre Production company has been entertain- ing local patrons for years with quality productions. This grassroots production com- pany is passionate about their acting, set design and con- struction, directing and the creative process involved in delivering an authentic, qual- ity entertainment experience. The Acton Town Hall Cen- tre is a historic building that has recently undergone an extensive renovation and ad- dition that maintains the heritage quality of the building and provides a new sleek multi-use lobby area. A recent tour of the renovated Town Hall boasts a theatre venue that is intimate for the audience and pro- vides wonderful acoustics and lighting. An elevator ensures access for all patrons. Finally, the Friends of the Old Seed House Garden will be using the proceeds of their benefi t performance to fund the resto- ration of its historic walled garden. These stone walls were the original foundation of the Dominion Seed House, a worldwide seed company founded by the Bradley fam- ily in 1928 with fl ower fi elds that graced the Guelph St./Maple Ave. corridor until its sale in 1993. Since its inaugural opening in 2001, the Old Seed House Garden has been a public gar- den maintained by volunteers in partnership with the Town of Halton Hills and the support of many local businesses. The foundation wall was originally restored to house a walled gar- den as a unique feature within the larger two-acre Seed House Garden project. Time and weath- er have eroded some areas of the wall. Extensive repairs are needed to keep the wall intact. So plan a night out with friends to sup- port our local history and culture. Tickets, $30, are at Foodstuffs, Bergsma's Paint and Décor, the Box Offi ce in the new George- town Library and at Country Refl ections in Acton. A wine & cheese reception with raffl e prize table for all guests and the cast follows the performance.
