ADVERTORIAL The Canadian Cancer Society is celebrating its 75th anniversary and the Georgetown Relay For Life has chosen a theme with a similar vintage, The Wizard Of Oz! This classic film, produced in 1939, de- picts a similar journey to the one that many cancer patients take during treatment. Dorothy is scared and must travel to a place she has never been so she can get the help she needs. Along the way, she finds strength in the new friends she makes. We hope the yellow brick road will help others on the same journey and take us one step closer to finding a cure for cancer. Relay For Life is an inspirational, non-competitive, 12-hour overnight fundraising event that brings Georgetown together to celebrate life and fight cancer. Relay For Life has a festival-like atmosphere that your family, friends and co-workers can enjoy regardless of age or fitness level! At Relay, teams gather with cancer survivors at The Croatian Centre and take turns walking laps all night. Each team keeps at least one member on the track at all times, while all around them the party is in full swing. Teams stay overnight in the decorated tent city, united to enjoy music, food, activities and entertainment and to celebrate life. We are looking for team captains, team members and volunteers to help before, during, and to clean up after the event. We are also inviting survivors to join us for the survivor reception at 5pm and, if able, the kick off lap at 7pm.
