At the Georgetown Seniors Centre At the Acton Seniors Centre By FLORENCE RIEHL Georgetown Seniors Centre The volunteer efforts of 155 members of the Acton and George- town Seniors Centre's were ac- knowledged and celebrated by the Town of Halton Hills at the Gel- lert Centre on Tuesday, April 23. Mayor Rick Bonnette welcomed us and said 250 volunteers donate their time in Halton Hills which amounted to 18,349 hours. Hal- ton Hills has one of the highest amounts of volunteers in Canada, whether it is volunteering for the Senior Centres, hockey, gymnas- tics or a variety of programs. On the April 24 trip to Rama. Marie Richardson won the 50/50; Dorothy Yelland, Jim Woodward and Pat Frizzell were sitting in the lucky seats. The next trip will be May 29. Jane McAllister, chair of the programs committee, asked me to mention that on May 7 at 1:30 p.m. Dorothy Rognvaldson will be giving a presentation on her recent trip to Iceland. You will also be able to sample some of the food from there. Lunch on Friday May 10 will be pizza. This means that our busy tea room convener Joyce and her crew will have time to get a head- start on preparing things for our Bazaar Tea.
