Services SUNDAY Proudly Presents Day in Cedarvale park in downtown Georgetown at the corner of Main Street and Maple Avenue. Not only will you see between 300 and 400 classic (and late model cars in the Lowered Intentions section) but there will be many vendors, a kids' area with fun things to do and, of course, lots of good food to enjoy. Every year McDon- ald's supplies a truck with free coffee. On stage will be TNT, a well-known DJ to play 50's and 60's music and much more of your favourite rock and roll "classic" music. The last few years the funds have ben- efi ted the Childhood Cancer Campaign. This event has raised close to half a mil- lion dollars for various cancer causes. You can expect to see everything from antique vehicles to turn of the 20th cen- tury cars to muscle cars of the 50's, 60's and 70's as well as European and British cars. There are also sports car clubs repre- sented and old fi re trucks, police cars, army trucks and jeeps, as well as famous rally cars. With the Lowered Intentions section you can expect to see late model Mus- tangs, Corvettes, Vipers, Dodge Chargers and Hyundai Genesis as well as a few souped up Civics and more. Not only do the many cars come from all over but if you bring your car you can expect some 4,000 people to visit the event. No event of this magnitude would be the great success it always is without the many volunteers. This year we welcome well-known local businessman Chris Crane as the new chairman with an or- ganizing committee and dozens of vol- unteers from many local service clubs including; The Rotary Club, Lions, Royal Canadian Legion, Optimist Club, George- town Radio Club, Computer Club and Air Cadets.
