It was built around the time of Confederation in 1866 as a drill hall for the local militia. Veterans of both World Wars passed through the Old Ar- moury doors and it was home to "C" Company of the Lorne Scots until they relocated in 1997. Georgetown Globe Produc- tions is a not-for-profi t musical theatre group whose members live in Halton Hills and the surrounding areas. The Old Armoury provides a rehearsal venue for Globe's youth and adult musical shows, summer musical theatre camp and it is also utilized by commu- nity groups for meetings and events. The Old Armoury has un- dergone some recent renova- tions inside and out-- board and batten siding, a new roof, washrooms, kitchen, sand- blasted interior barn boards, and more. However, there are many additional renovation proj- ects yet to be done and to ac- complish this funds are being raised through events such as the garage sale. The Old Armoury is an important part of the Halton Hills heritage and a vibrant part of our community. Please help Globe to preserve The Old Armoury with your gener- ous donations and please plan to attend The Old Armoury Renovation Garage Sale on Saturday, June 22.
