As a hearing instrument specialist registered with the Ontario Ministry of Health, and a member of the International Hearing Society, Constantine is able to perform hearing assessments and dispense a wide variety of hearing aids and assistive listening devices. "Communication is critical in life. Jobs, relationships and social interactions are all more rewarding when we can confidently communicate - and hearing is vital to that" says Constantine. "Nearly 1 in 5 Canadian adults struggle with hearing loss, a figure that climbs to 1 in 3 for people over 65. The good news is, with today's modern advancements in hearing aid technology, there is no reason to 'just put up' with hearing loss anymore." Born and raised in Georgetown, Constantine says "Helping people with their hearing is my passion and I'm very fortunate to be able to practice in a town that I love. It's very rewarding to have clients tell me the extensive positive impact our hearing aids have had on their lives." If you or someone you know has difficulty hearing, or if you already have hearing aids and want to ensure you are receiving the most benefit you can from them, Halton Audiometric Centre invites you to call them for your complimentary assessment today. 905-877-8828 36 Guelph St. Un. 44 (Knolcrest Centre)CONSTANTINE KAROLIDIS Fairoze Poonah considers himself a "people- person" so it makes sense that he has opted to devote his life to helping people by choosing a career as a physician. CARRIE BURROWS Georgetown Fitness Boot Camp owner-operator Carrie Burrows knows from personal experience that when you look better, you feel better. "I was an overweight kid who became an obese teen," she says. "The summer before university, I was miserable and that was a turning point for me." Carrie majored in kinesiology and lost 100 pounds. When she was pregnant, she gained the weight back and then lost it again. "I've been through the weight loss process on my own," she says. "Now I get to help other people change their lives." Over a four-week period, Carrie's boot campers meet for hour-long classes that combine cardio and strength training for a full body workout. She makes things challenging with different weights and equipment for each session. Classes are held outside during the spring and summer and move into school gyms during the cold seasons. Carrie also provides one-on-one training and nutritional programs to help kids, adults and sports teams meet their fitness goals. Unlike a traditional gym, Georgetown Fitness Boot Camp provides a support system and holds its members accountable, so if you don't show up for class, you will get a call. "Everybody is there for the same reason: to get healthy and get fit," Carrie says. "I love seeing how lives are changed by being healthy. Impacting people via their health is an unbelievable honour to have."
