Bubbles wants to live life independently, so if you would welcome a feline who would not be a huge intru- sion in your life, here she is. (That said, she welcomed the writer and was in the mood to socialize). Bubbles is a very pretty calico cat, short haired, born on March 28, 2008. Origi- nally adopted from us her owner passed away and Bubbles found her way back to our Shelter. Bubbles is not light and airy and eas- ily burst, but is a unique cat who needs a family who see "uniqueness" as a plus. Once out of her cage for exercise, Bubbles patrols and explores constantly on the move as if looking for a way out of the Shelter. Bubbles is not interested in sit- ting on laps, or being picked up; she will sometimes allow stroking but it is very low on her needs. Bubbles is happiest curled up in her own space and not be- ing harassed with interaction whether it is human or feline. This young lady would be perfect for a working family as she would be happy on her own while you are away and you would not be worried as you know that is what she wants. Bubbles is VERY unhappy here and it breaks our hearts to see what used to be a very happy cat unhappy. Another special thing about Bubbles is her "grumbling/ talking" while eating, which probably is a defense mechanism to keep her compan- ions away from her food! A lower-pace patient, adult-only, family would be best but definitely no children as they would add to her stress and not un- derstand her super-independent personal- ity. She should be the "only" furball in the household to encourage her to trust. If you feel you have infinite patience and love to help this troubled beautiful lady, we encourage you to apply. Call the Shelter at 519-833-2287 or email adoptions@uppercredit.com to meet her (Bubbles has a "special" adop- tion fee). By JUDITH-ANNE KOLU Upper Credit Humane Society volunteer YOU & YOUR PET Jordan is a male, neutered black Lab, three years of age, weighing in at 73 lbs. Jordan was a "surrender" although the family felt he was a lovely dog when quiet and relaxed, he just needed more time and exercise than they were willing, or able, to give him. Jordan has his basic commands, is housebroken, very friendly, welcomes peoples' attention, loves cuddles; is high energy but walking with a head halter helps Jordan display his easy, affable na- ture and nice polite manners. Like most dogs, Jordan would definite- ly thrive with extra training to strengthen the bond with a new family and he would find it enjoyable as he is a smart young man. Jordan is in fine physical shape, at- tractive muscle definition under his black shiny coat. He is excellent at playing fetch and the fast pace of the exercise is a fun time and a highlight during Shelter life. Jordan would especially blossom with a family who enjoy the outdoors and like to join him in communal exercising. Jordan received an extremely positive behavioural evaluation: • NO aggression, • ADEPT at learning new things, • GOOD with cats and other dogs, • NOT reactive, • EXCITABLE but GENTLE. Jordan definitely has high potential for becoming a wonderful addition to a fam- ily who will take time settling him into his routine with lots of exercise and love. If you think you are that family call the Shelter at 519-833-2387 or email adop- tions@uppercredit.com to meet him. Jordan, a black Lab, loves life By JUDITH-ANNE KOLU Upper Credit Humane Society volunteer
