Pre-deceased by her first husband James Budd, in 1943 and her sister Thelma in 2002. Zoe and her 3 y o u n g e r s i s t e r s s p e n t t h e i r chi ldhood, f i rs t in Peace River, Alberta, then in Slave Lake. She moved with her family to Nanaimo, where she and her sisters were active participants in Nanaimo's 1939 entry to the Dominion Drama Festival in London Ontario. After Jim's death in World War II she worked as a secretary in Vancouver. She left Vancouver in 1949 for London, England where she met and married John in 1950. John and Zoe in 1951 moved first to Toronto and then to Georgetown, Ontario where she raised her 3 children. Zoe in addition to caring for her 3 children, ran a successful bookstore. In 1981 John retired, and Zoe sold the store. They moved that year to the West Coast, where they travelled and enjoyed their retirement, until advancing age and arthritis led them into care in 2008.
