More than 35 volunteers-- Lions, George- town Bread Basket members and high school students-- will be serving up free breakfasts at the fifth-annual Georgetown Lions Free Breakfast/Food Drive this weekend. The two day event-- April 26 and 27-- will be held, 7 a.m. to noon, in the Heritage Hall (the new home of the Lions) in the Mold-Mas- ters SportsPlex. The full breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast, juice, coffee and tea is free in exchange for food donations for the George- town Bread Basket. The Lions tent will be outside the main doors collecting food, and handing out break- fast tickets. Any cash donations to the food bank will also get you and your family a free breakfast. Items most needed by the Bread Basket are: canned juice, canned pasta, salmon, hot cereal, cookies, instant coffee, salt, canned pears/peaches, fruit cocktail, instant rice, whole grains. The Georgetown Lions have been serving the community for more than 83 years, orga- nizing the Santa Claus Parade and George- town Citizen of the Year, and contributing to the new library, minor sports, fall fairs, Clas- sics Against Cancer, guide dogs and more. Lions offer free breakfast in exchange for food donations Nathan Doran, 15, a first-year novice division referee, enjoys the Lions Club Charity Breakfast at Mold-Masters SportsPlex Heritage Hall after officiat- ing two games. The Lions hosted the charity breakfast to raise funds for their community programs in March.
