The group will perform a lively blend of jigs, reels, and a variety of other traditional Celtic tunes that you would likely hear in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. The opening act is very first performance of the brand new Georgetown Youth String Orchestra. The Celtic orchestra has been steadily growing since it first began four years ago. Starting with only six members, they have grown to more than 16 musicians. "I am very proud of what the group has become," says the music director James Franczek. Proceeds from the concert help sup- port the Academy of Music Scholarship Program. The one year music lesson scholarships are given to children re- ferred by the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton. The family friendly concert will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, 89 Mountainview Rd. S. at Sinclair Ave. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12 and are available in advance at the Academy of Music 905-877-2770 or at the door.
