There will be presentations and demonstrations to help people select materials and understand their correct use for home improvements, accord- ing to Coordinator Randy Baryla of The Renovation Company. A member of the Halton Hills Chamber of Com- merce, the firm specializes in remodel- ing or renovations for homes and con- dos. "Demonstrations and guest speak- ers will focus on several areas of inter- est to homeowners, whether they are renovating a bathroom, basement or kitchen or looking at whole home me- chanical operations," he said. "Topics include the selection and use of generators, choosing flooring materials for different areas of the home and a primer on shopping for air conditioners and heat recovery ventila- tion systems (HRVs). This year's show is based on the theme of "Small Town Living At Its Best." More than 100 local businesses will be promoting their products and services at the May 2-3 show, spon- sored by the Chamber of Commerce and The Independent & Free Press. RANDY AND DANIELLA BARYLA No matter what your taste in trans- portation- big or small, old or new- there will be plenty to see at this year's Halton Hills Health, Home and Happi- ness (#H5) Show. The Town of Halton Hills will have some of their big rigs from Public Works, along with fire trucks, while on the small side, there will be cars on dis- play from local dealerships, including electric plug-in models. It's all happening May 2-3 at the new Mold-Masters SportsPlex, which has a series of powering stations for electric vehicles. Local car dealerships will show off their latest offerings, both in the build- ing and in the parking lot, where there will be a variety of food trucks. There will be a Friday Cruise Night, with cruisers from Nashville North and their classic cars. In addition to the electric Chevy Volt, Georgetown Chevrolet Buick GMC ex- pects to highlight the new Chevy Pick- up, and an SS Camero. Georgetown Toyota plans to show off the Prius, along with the RAV4, Corolla, Tundra, Venza and Highlander. There will be entertainment, draws, prizes and giveaways throughout the weekend, as well as home and health presentations. Check the Events page at www.haltonhillschamber.on.ca.
