A Token of our Gratitude for
A Glorious Service rendered by You in the World War 1939 to 1945
To Henry Shepherd

Georgetown offers a glad Welcome Home to you who have served King, Country, Town, Church and Home, and saved our civilization from degredation, slavery and despair.

Georgetown offers you heartfelt thanks for your self-sacrificing, noble, and efficient service.

Georgetown desires to make her gratitude apparent by a gift. Nothing she could give you would be adequate. Nor does she know what you would like. Therefore she asks you to receive this cheque, and to get something with it that may please you, as A Token of Georgetown's Gratitude.

Some have not come home, but rest far from Georgetown. We ask you their loved ones to procure something you will treasure in your home as a gift from Georgetown in loving remembrance of one who did not return.
