Noel Duignan, who was the Wellington- Halton Hills NDP rid- ing president for the 2011 federal election, has filed his papers for one of the two the Ward 4 council seats up for grabs, with in- cumbent Ann Law- lor also making her intentions known to run again in the same ward. Another incum- bent, Jon Hurst, has filed once again in Ward 1 (Acton) for one of the two available seats at council, while new- comer Dave Sands joins a crowded group in Ward 3 with four other candidates. Candidates have until Sept. 12 to file their nomina- tion papers to run for one of the 11 positions on town council, including mayor, or regional chair or school trustee. If elected, their term of office will be from Dec. 1, 2014 to Nov. 30, 2018.
