The Club at North Halton member had a 54- hole score of 17 over par, record- ing rounds of 75-80-78, which was good enough for a tie for 31st amongst the Senior Men's competitors. The 73-year-old Fin- layson has now won the Super Senior trophy three years in a row. He said he's unsure whether he'll return next year to defend his title in Peterborough. The race started at 8 a.m. on Friday and officially ended at 8 a.m. on Sunday and the goal was to hammer out as many laps of this vicious course that your physical and mental strength would allow. Chris Henderson was a crew member and pacer, for brother-in-law Joe Peternel, 24, who was a 48-hour virgin runner, and still new to the ultra-marathon running scene, but still managed to crush 110 miles and place as fourth overall male. Another Georgetown lo- cal who ran was 73-year-old Joe Cleary, known as Irish Joe, a legend to most in the ultra-run- ning scene. Joe went into the race with no set goal however he powered through the nights and hit the 100 mile mark, earning himself the ever so sought after Belt Buckle. If you are looking to get more fit, join the Georgetown Runners for a run, it's free to check us out and all abilities are welcome.
