According to the survey conducted by Pollara Stra- tegic Insights, Halton resi- dents are 98 per cent satis- fied with their quality offied with their quality off life and 97 per cent are sat- isfied with the quality of region services. "The Service Optimiza- tion Survey helps us un- derstand what issues are top of mind for residents," said regional chair Gary Carr. Here are four of the top services that residents said they are satisfied with: 1) Waste management services: The region re- cently unveiled changes to their recycling program and even enhanced collec- tion services after the re- cent windstorm. 2) Quality of drinking water: Residents expressed satisfaction with their drinking water; however, a pocket of residents in Hornby have experienced disruptions for nearly a de- cade. The region recently announced they are pro- viding them municipal ser- vices. 3) Sewage treatment and disposal: Halton is cur- rently upgrading the wastewater treatment plant in Acton, with con- struction set to finish in spring 2019. 4) Paramedic services: With recent investments in paramedic mental health, programs for assisting se- niors and preventing calls, paramedic services are constantly growing and modernizing. The region is still advocating for better dispatch times from the call centre.
