Hillsview now available for pick up. The Town Fall & Winter Service Guide, pg. 34, also contains the schedule. Your new Hillsview is chalked full of important information and you will want to read it over carefully so you will be up to date on the many news items and fu- ture plans. It is time to register for the Fall Active Living Programs. Classes get cancelled because not enough people register early. Don't wait for the last minute to register. Do It Now! Evening Cribbage is being offered as a drop-in program on Monday's beginning Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. Cost is $2/member and $4/non-member. Bingo begins again on Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. Remember bingos are held on the first and third Monday of each month. Conversational French and Spanish have become very popular classes and will be held in the fall again. French is of- fered Tuesdays beginning Sept. 16 from 10-11 a.m. Spanish is offered Friday be- ginning Sept. 19. You will need to regis- ter and pay for these classes at Reception. If enough people are interested Con- versational Spanish will be offered as an evening program on Tuesdays starting on Sept.16. Guitar classes will resume Thursday, Sept. 16, 12:45-1:45 p.m. Always looking for new members. Travel Desk is always busy. A few seats left for Oktoberfest, Cross Border Shop- ping, and Daniel O'Donnell concert. Stop by. The Centre will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1 for the Labour Day holiday. The tickets for the Gala Opening Dinner are all sold out. I know it will be a very spe- cial evening! Our latest copy of Hillsview is at the front desk. If you aren't able to get to the Centre there will be copies available at the Acton Library. Pick one up and read about all the exciting programs and events we have planned for the next two months in- cluding our Open House Week which starts on Sept. 8. You can participate in the free try it fitness and wellness programs and enjoy the daily presentations, as well as our regular daily drop in programs; darts, crafts, social dancing, cards, shuffleboard, carpet bowling, water colour painting, and hiking. Our fundraising calendar featuring board members and friends is in its final stage and will shortly go to print. Look for it at the Christmas Bazaar. I understand that the trip to Niagara on the Lake to see Cabaret has a waiting list, but you still have time to add your name to the trip to experience Oktoberfest at the Concordia Club in Kitchener on Wednes- day, Oct.15. Start your Christmas shopping early with a trip to Buffalo for shopping on Thursday, Nov. 13. Don't forget you will need a valid Canadian passport for the trip to Buffalo. If you have your name down on the Gals on the Go trips please drop in and pay as I have to confirm numbers at the various restaurants. Lunch on Friday, Sept. 5 will be soup and sandwiches plus dessert, tea and cof- fee. Add your name to the list and enjoy lunch followed by a game of Bingo. The weekly 50/50 was not won this week, so next Friday it should be around $150.
