Information on the Commu- nity Brand is available here: http:// www.myhaltonhills.ca/resources. We wanted to create visuals and phrases that cap- ture the essence of who we are. The "tagline" we ad- opted that best sums up the spirit of our community is: "Small Town Liv- ing at Its Best." In addition to the logo, the project identified some of the typical behav- iours that reflect the character of our town. These include actions such as: driving a senior around town; pick- ing up litter; organizing a block party; smiling at a stranger; shopping local; writing to the editor of the Indepen- dent & Free Press; buying some lo- cal art and attending a local play or concert; learning some local history; volunteer for something; etc. In short the friendly and neighbourly actions that reflect "the small town way." In order to promote and explain the brand, the Cul- tural Roundtable would like to obtain from the citizens of Halton Hills some authentic real sto- ries along the lines suggested above. I invite you to send in your stories (and photos also if you have some), by e-mail to Beatrice Sharkey at shar- key@look.ca. Please provide a name and telephone number so we can con- tact you if we need more information. The group will also have a booth at this weekend's Georgetown Fall Fair.
