He has assumed the practice of Dr. Trant who recently retired. "I am looking forward to providing medical services to the community. I find it is a great community to work in and hope to be providing health care here for many years to come," said Dr. Lamptey. Dr. Lamptey is currently accepting new patients and may be contacted at 905-873- 3000. Dr. Lamptey graduated from McMas- ter University, where he completed both his medical degree and residency train- ing. In addition to maintaining a family practice, Dr. Lamptey will have privileges at Georgetown Hospital, where he will be looking after his own patients and work- ing in the Emergency Room. The Town, through the Physician Re- cruitment Program, will be providing fi- nancial assistance to Dr. Lamptey in set- ting up his new practice. The program provides a $5,000 grant and a $10,000 in- terest-free loan repayable over five years; the funds can be used for the purchase of equipment or to set up an office. The doctor agrees to maintain an ac- tive family practice for a minimum of five years. The program, initiated in 2009, has helped attract eight family physicians to the community; in addition the Town has supported the successful Nurse Practitio- ner program in Acton. "Halton Hills continues to invest in health services in the community," said Mayor Rick Bonnette "This program helps our residents to have a local doctor adding to the quality of life for our residents." The Town of Halton Hills works closely with the Region of Halton to attract and retain family physicians in the commu- nity.
