Police have charged a man with nine of- fences after two pharmacies in Oakville were robbed within minutes of each other last Friday. Shortly after 11 a.m. on June 22, an armed man wearing a disguise entered a pharmacy at 2163 Sixth Line. He ordered several citizens to turn over their cell- phones before jumping the counter to the pharmacy. He obtained a quantity of cash and narcotics before departing on foot. No one were injured during the incident. Minutes later at 1534 Queensbury Cres., in Oakville, a suspect entered the pharma- cy and assaulted another man before being overpowered and subdued by a second man who was initially outside of the phar- macy and witnessed the altercation. The suspect was taken into custody by police moments later. Several items taken from the first pharmacy were recovered, including a gun, later determined to be a BB gun. The victim and suspect were treated for minor injuries when taken to hospital.
