This tradition is instilled in the Blue Devils U8 teams and is carried to the League1 level. With the rising prominence of soc- cer academies in Ontario and in turn the popularity of soccer in Canada, the Blue Devils offer something that sets them apart from soccer acad- emies and clubs alike. The Oakville Blue Devils offer a complete player pathway from the U8 level to the League1 Ontario level, which will soon serve as a feeder league for the Canadian Pre- mier League. The Academy prides itself on developing players from the grassroots level and working with them to improve and hone their skills. The Academy runs year round, playing in both the OASL pilot league during the outdoor season and Hershey League for the indoor season. In addition to a strong develop- ment program, the Blue Devils also offer mentoring sessions between the League1 players and Academy players. League1 players work with younger players within the academy to improve their knowledge and un- derstanding of the game while also working on important skills. This important relationship not only pro- vides role models for the academy but also helps provide both acad- emy players and their parents with a visual understanding of the player pathway the academy offers. More importantly than simply de- veloping players are the educational opportunities the Blue Devils offer through the years of connections formed and maintained by the Se- nior Technical staff. The numbers speak for themselves with 87 per cent of players coached and devel- oped by the Senior Technical staff receiving postsecondary education scholarships to the United States. Of this 87 per cent, 90 per cent of players played in the NCAA with 51 per cent playing Division I. If you think you're the next Blue Devil, visit bluedevilsacademy.com/ trials.
