I am pleased to report that some help is on its way. Our new PC govern- ment is working to make commuters' lives a little easier and to make the travel a little cheaper. As of Sept. 24 there will be 220 new trips per week on the GO Lakeshore cor- ridors. That's an increase of 18 per cent - the largest increase in the Lakeshore service in five years. We're enhancing the transit ex- perience. This should en- courage more people to take GO instead of driving to work, benefiting com- muters by road and rail. Drivers will see a drop in the price of gas as we eliminate the former gov- ernment's cap and trade carbon tax, with the aver- age family saving about $260 per year. Cancelling this tax is the necessary next step to reducing gas prices by 10 cents per litre, with the first drop occur- ring this week as gas fell five cents per litre.five cents per litre.f We've also cancelledWe've also cancelledW the increase in driver fees that the Liberals had scheduled for Sept. 1, 2018. Drivers won't be paying higher fees for driver's li- cences, knowledge tests and road tests.
