The Town of Oakville is advising resi- dents to prepare for two-way street conver- sions, which will be taking place in the downtown through October and Novem- ber. As part of the downtown plan, the town is converting all existing one-way streets to two-way streets. According to the schedule Thomas Street, Dunn Street and George Street were scheduled to switch to two-way streets from Randall Street to Lakeshore Road on Oct. 23-24. These routes will feature new signage and pavement markings. Church Street is scheduled to convert to a two-way street from Navy street to Allan Street on Oct. 29-31. That project will feature resurfacing as well as new signage and markings. Randall Street will be converted to a two-way street from Navy Street to Doug- las Street on Nov. 5-7, with asphalt grind- ing, new pavement, signage and markings. Road resurfacing on Navy Street (from Randall Street to Lakeshore Road), Dunn Street and George Street (from Randall Street to Church Street) will take place Nov. 12-14. The streets are open to one-lane traffic and on-street parking is temporarily re- moved while work is underway. Any changes to downtown transit routes will be available on oakvilletransit- .ca. The two-way conversion of the existing street network was approved as part of the Oakville's Downtown Transportation and Streetscape Study.
