Some of Robinson's time has been spent chairing the Bronte Creek environmental assessment steering committee, acting as a founding member of the former commu- nity advisory committee to Petro-Canada and the Lake Ontario shoreline algae ac- tion committee. Robinson also chaired the Oakville Ter- ry Fox Run for 25 years, served as a foun- ding director of the Oakville Sports Hall of Fame and former director of the Halton multicultural council. He is also a recipient of the Queens Dia- mond Jubilee Medal, and in 2009 became the 11th Canadian recipient of the presti- gious Kin award known as Hal Rogers Fel- low. "Thank you councillors very much, present and past," said Robinson. "This was a big family decision. It wasn't easy and I am going to miss it, but I will get over that and I will still be around." Both outgoing councillors will continue to serve until the council term ends on Nov. 30.
