Failure of existing bank protection and bank erosion are prevalent throughout the study area and have the potential to impact residential properties as identified in the town-wide 2015 Creek Erosion Inventory and Assessment Study. This study will develop, evaluate and recommend preferred alternatives to reduce the risk from creek erosion and possibly stabilizing creek banks as needed in areas of concern. The study is being carried out in accordance with Schedule B requirements as outlined in the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class EA (October 2000, as amended to 2015), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. A key component of the study is consultation with interested stakeholders, Indigenous groups, the public, landowners and regulatory agencies.
