Hosted by the NOYDC, the free event's goal was to help build a more youth-caring neighbourhood in North Oakville. It was held at the River Oaks Community Centre. NOYDC consists of youth members and adult allies from various community organizations. A recent North Oakville youth survey developed by Halton's Our Kids Network and its partners showed the number of kids who thought they lived in a caring neighbourhood dropped as student reached Grade 10. Research supports that having a caring neighbourhood is a key element in order for youth to thrive. NOYDC/photo NOYDC YOUTH SKATE ATTRACTS 100-PLUS COMMUNITY
