Q: Why did you want to participate in the Oak- ville Santa Claus Pa- rade? A: It began as a creative and magical way to spend time with my two youngest daughters and quickly evolved into an annual hol- iday event for all my family and friends. Q: What inspired you to start dressing as the Grinch in the Santa Claus Parade? A: One year, due to a snowboarding back injury, I was not able to join my family to watch the paradefamily to watch the paradef and my daughters were heartbroken. To make it up to them, I promised that I would get better and the next year would be the best parade yet. The storyteller and creator in me went wild and the idea evolved from there. Closer to thefrom there. Closer to thef holidays, Santa Claus wrote to the girls asking them be a part of the pa- rade. After a collective fam- ily creative session we de- cided to transform my fam- ily - and my Vespa - into the Grinch, his sleigh, Cindy Lou Who and Max the dog. A life-long memory was created and a tradition ini- tiated. Q: What has kept you participating all these years? A: Participation from my family and friends! What started as a team of myself and my daughters has turned into an event that features 60 of my fami- ly and friends. My wife Jen- nifer graciously scours Hal- ton for the perfect costumes and does the hair and make- up for the entire family ea- ch year. This year we even added a 10-foot Whoville Christmas tree. It is also a great way to give back to the community and put smiles on children's faces. Q: What is something you wish everyone knew about you? A: That I believe creat- ing experiences to share with people I care about is incredibly important. Don't be afraid to be silly and put yourself out there in order to create a meaningful ex- perience. Life is short, em- brace an all-or-nothing atti- tude! Q: If you could give the world one piece of advice what would it be? A: Walk in at least one parade in your life. Each year I spin my Vespa around to watch the chil- dren behind me as they turn on to Lakeshore and realize the reality and scope of walking in a pa- rade. It truly is magical and something they will never forgetforgetf .
