Inger MacKenzie won Best of Design Photogra- phy - on Houzz, a leading platform for home renova- tion and design. An online experience for home renovation andfor home renovation andf design, Houzz connects homeowners and home professionals with the best tools, resources and vendors. The photographer was chosen by the more than 40 million monthly unique users that comprise the Houzz community - from among more than 2.1 mil- lion active home building, remodelling and design industry professionals. MacKenzie said that she tries to recreate the professionals' vision. "In the photos of an ar- chitect, or interior design- er's work, I try to recreate their vision," she said. "The feel, the essence of the space, materials, lines, hues, different an- gles, balancing the light. These are not quick snap- shots. "I am fortunate being able to live a true passion, which is the appreciation for architectural designfor architectural designf that speaks to me." Mackenzie said she is hoping to be an inspira- tion to others, so they know that it is possible to live your passion. "Many talented young photographers get dis- couraged by the competi- tion and the low pay," she said. "I tell them to perse- vere, and believe in them- selves, find the light, and not give up...A picture is such a wonderful tool for communication." The Best of Houzz badge is awarded annual- ly, in three categories: De- sign, Customer Service and Photography. Design awards honour profes- sionals whose work was the most popular among the Houzz community. Customer Service ho- nours are a pro's overall rating on Houzz and client reviews submitted in 2018. Architecture and interior design photographers whose images were most popular are recognized with the Photography award. This is the fourth year in a row that MacKenzie has been awarded "Oak- ville's Best Photogra- pher." A "Best of Houzz 2019" badge will appear on win- ners' profiles as a sign of their commitment to ex- cellence.
