Star Metroland Media Kel ly Montague, VP Regiona l Pub l i sher Working in a career she loves and with people she cares about, VP Regional Publisher of Star Metroland Media Kelly Montague has allowed herself to continue to learn every day through her passion for her career. To Montague, International Women's Day is a day to celebrate the accomplishments of women and to recognize that there are still women that face discrimination and inequality today. She advises women to "Trust themselves, believe that they can do it and know that mistakes are A-Okay." "I have had very reliable leaders that have always supported me and made me believe in myself. Of course, no career is possible without supportive family and I'm lucky to have that," Montague said, while mentioning that her greatest accomplishment is being a working mother who has raised two children to become "amazing young adults." Opening herself up to always learn something new, Montague explains that her passion for her career helped in her success, but her day-to-day mantra is to follow respect, au- thenticity and professionalism every day. "I have had supportive mentors in my life that have lifted me up and made me who I am," she said. "I try to do the same. There is no greater satisfaction than being told that you have helped someone else to achieve their goals." Montague says aspiring business women should never com- promise and to find a way to follow their passions and trust themselves through the process. 901 Guelph Line, Burlington International Women's Day 2019 #InnovateForChange International Women's Day To Carm Bozzo, development manager at Halton Women's Place, International Wom- en's Day means a lot of things: The celebration of women; and the recognition of all that we do each and every day to advocate for ourselves and for all women and girls so that we may continue the movement to end gender inequality. Influenced by her parents, Bozzo explains that they "always instilled a very strong work ethic" in her. They taught her to always finish what she started and to work hard for herself and her family, even when it is not easy to do so. Bozzo admits she puts a lot on her plate and holds herself to a high standard because of that influence and it's what's helped her achieve her greatest career accomplishments, including the creation of Halton Women's Places' men's walk in heels in Halton. Despite being told she couldn't name the event what she originally wanted, she pushed forward and today the success- ful event has expanded across the region. "Personally, my greatest accomplishment is raising my two sons to be a part of the solution" she admits. That's been a key to her success, along with the mentoring that she does and has received, claiming, "I think you learn in both regards… It stretches your thinking, your creativity and boosts your energy!" Her advice is to follow your passion and take care of yourself. 2211 Brant Street, #20060, Burlington 905-332-1200 Halton Women's Place Carm Bozzo , Deve lopment Manager effie.triantafilopoulos@pc.ola.org 905-825-2455 International Celebrating Your future is filled with limitless possibilities.
