John grew up in Montrea l , marr ied Lillian, also a Montrealer, there in 1960. Both children were born and started school in Montreal where extended family lived. As a National Representative for the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers , John was transferred to Oakville in 1973. While his assignments as a National Representative continued with the Energy and Chemical Workers and with the Communication, Energy and Paperworkers, his role involved travel to provinces across Canada but Oakville remained his family home. In 1984, John was presented with an award from William Davis, Premier of Ontario, for his service as a member of the Advisory Council on Occupational Health and Safety. W h i l e J o h n w a s p e r s o n a l l y committed to the purpose of his work, his focus, care, and greatest j o y c e n t e r e d o n f a m i l y. H i s retirement in 1997 provided time for t rave l to p laces of interest in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South America. He was free to spend unlimited time with his family in his home and theirs, and to be part of special events and celebrations in the i r l i ve s . Each o f them has wonderful memories of his loving involvement, support, interest, and of happy times together. He will be greatly missed and forever cherished in our family story. A private burial has taken place.
