Tow truck companies provide an essential service in our community. We are seeking public input on what those regulations should look like. The information received will be used to formulate a recommendation to the Community Services Committee (CSC) on June 17, 2019. The decision of the CSC will be forwarded to Council on June 24, 2019. Why a Maintenance of Vacant Properties By-law? Vacant and unoccupied buildings that are not maintained can become infested with pests, attract trespassers, and have negative impacts on property values. Although the town's Property Standards By-law addresses some of the issues that vacant properties present, other issues such as ensuring buildings are regularly inspected and have sufficient insurance need to be addressed.
