War baby then danc ing queen, Pam met William Roy Aitken, the dashing Scotsman and brilliant engineer, at the mill. Married at 21, they saw out the Raj in India, returned to Britain then emigrated to Canada in 1970. Roy's work took them to Jakarta and Soroako, but Roy died tragically in 1992, far too soon. Pam returned to Oakville where she had many friends and will be remembered as a lady of substance and character. She is survived by her two sons and five grandchildren who loved her very much. David was the son of the late Frederick Ronald Ball and Edith May Ball, nee Hill he is survived by his wife of 25 years Carole Anne, nee Lamnea, sons Jamie, (Lisa) Stephen (Laura) and daughter Justina (Deena) Griffiths (David) and stepson David Cox (Carla) daughter-in-law Barbara Markovic (Paul) grandchildren Jaklyn, Adam, Casey, Carter and Kaitlyn he is also su rv i ved by h i s s i s te r s , P r i s c i l l a Williams, Ruth How and Beth White and brother John Weaver all of United Kingdom as well as numerous nieces and nephews. David served in the British Merchant Navy for 6 year one of his proudest achievements during that time as the fourth offi cer was piloting the ship he was on through the Suez Canal. On leaving the Merchant Navy he joined the police service in West Wales, he served as a Police Offi cer in London England and upon immigration in 1973 he joined the Mississauga Police Force which then amalgamated into the Peel Regional Police Service achieving a well- deserved rank of Inspector. David served as a Police Officer in UK and Canada for a total of 40 years. David loved the game of lawn bowls and represented Ontario and Canada in many major Canadian tournaments. David was a member of the Hamilton Orpheus Choir under the direction of Lynn Harry for many years. David sang in the St. James the Greater Church choir for over 20 years and conducted the choir for 2 years until a replacement choir master joined. Thank you David for being such a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. We trust your fi ne qualities of kindness, fairness, honesty and love will live on in us. BATCHELOR, Carol Ann BA, MA May 28, 1952 - March 9, 2019 It is with great sadness that we announce Carol's passing at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in her 67th year. Loving daughter of Marjorie of Oakville and sister of Susan (Drew) of Toronto, Carol is also survived by her sister-in-law Corrine and nieces Kate and Ana of Burlington. Carol will also be greatly missed by her aunts and uncles and many cousins. Carol was predeceased by both her father Robert (2014) and her brother Paul (2014). A graduate of the University of Waterloo, Carol worked primarily as a writer/editor. She was a published author of the novel, Occam's Razor and several children's books. She was also a ghost writer on the popular children's animated series "Katie and Orbie". When not pursuing her pass ion for wr i t ing, Carol was employed by the Ontario Section of the IMSA in the capacity of "Girl Friday".
